WESTFALIA Metal Hoses has a long-standing partnership with many commercial vehicle manufacturers. Through close cooperation, we understand their unique requirements and develop solutions tailored to their specific needs. This includes the integration of flexible decoupling elements, pipes and complete exhaust line systems with thermal insulation.

Thermal insulation contributes to:

  • Protecting adjacent components from damage due to heat
  • Maintaining the exhaust gas temperature throughout the entire exhaust line system at a high level
  • Keeping surface temperatures low to prevent spontaneous ignition of dust, f. e. in agriculture or mining vehicles

Advantages that are appreciated not only in the on-road but also in the off-road sector, where these vehicles are exposed to extreme conditions.

Tailor-made insulation – for individual conditions

Various technologies and materials are used to enhance the efficiency of exhaust systems while minimizing heat transfer to other components.

Metal-encapsulated insulation

Complex shapes are encapsulated with fiber mats made of different materials. Welded, structurally reinforced stainless steel foil ensures a precise fit and finish.

Flexible metal insulation FMI

The components to be insulated are wrapped along the outside with a thin-walled wound hose, lined on the inside with an insulating layer of fiber mats.

Rapid installation – efficient and flexible, especially on long pipe sections without brackets.

Half-shell insulation

Preformed insulation shells made of fiber mat and textured stainless steel foil are placed around the components to be insulated and crimped at the sides.

Even in the smallest installation area, WESTFALIA’s GTH exhaust line systems find the optimum space and guarantee the perfect connection between engine outlet and and exhaust aftertreatment inlet. For this purpose the Gastight Hoses GTH can be equipped with a vast variety of accessory parts:
